Finally a wig for us 4C women...

So I ran across the Ruth's Beauty Shop site accidentally while looking for a kinky wig to review. The site boasts that it sells hair units that are custom and hair that hasn't been stripped of its natural cuticle. Basically, it's supposed to look like YOUR HAIR. Now ladies, I've been natural for four years now, and none of you have seen my natural hair, but let me tell you, it is coarse! My mother would get blisters on her hands braiding my hair as a child, so you can just imagine. However, after looking through a few of their units, I saw one that looked like it would match my hair to a T! What do you dolls think? Did they do that, or did they do that?!
Now, I've been wearing this lace wig for about 3 weeks, so let me tell you what I've noticed, what I like and what I don't like about this unit.
Pros:
She is SOFT
Smells NICE
Looks like it's my OWN HAIR ( No one has YET to question whether this hair is mine or not)
Matches 4B and 4C hair textures to a T
Can be made as big as you'd like with a paddle brush
FULL!!!! ( I can't stand thin hair)
Cons:
Does not have ANYTHING to secure the wig to my head. (some of us REFUSE to glue lace wigs to our foreheads, and this wig doesn't offer any alternatives.) What I ended up doing was purchasing wig clips and sewing them to the lace of this wig.
May be a bit expensive for beginner wig wearers (This unit is $337.92). ALTHOUGH if you want something that you plan to wear for a while and that you want to LAST, this unit is a great investment. I know a lot of you dolls get tired of throwing those crunchy wigs away after a couple of weeks.
